NUCA Pipe Installation Training Program
Pipe laying is a competitive, high-production business. An efficient crew can help your company to win more bids and get more jobs. To reach this level of performance, teamwork is critical.
The Pipe Installation training program from VISTA and the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) covers the fundamentals of water and sewer pipe installation using modern equipment and technologies. These programs can help your crews to work together safely and productively.
Here are the first three programs in the Pipe Installation training series (Two more are planned. Watch this web page for additional details as they become available.):
Job Layout (Chapter 1)
This program covers overall safety issues, job site layout, material handling and protecting the pipe installation. (Licensed per workstation).
Excavation, Trenching, Manholes & Backfilling (Chapter 2)
This program covers trenching, bedding, backfilling, dealing with manholes, dewatering and tie-ins.
Working With Pipe (Chapter 3)
This program covers general safety considerations, working with numerous types of pipe, including PVC, ductile iron, concrete, concrete pressure and polyethylene (PE) pipe.
"Check your knowledge" challenge questions are included in each lesson to help trainees retain the knowledge they have learned. Trainees must also take a final test at the completion of each chapter. Although the training series is designed primarily for self-navigation, it can also be used by instructors to train groups of students. Each program takes about 60-90 minutes to complete.
These self-paced computer-based training modules run on most Windows-based computers. Licensing is per workstation.
